In Bollywood’s Closet
We all are obsessed with bollywood aren’t we? Bollywood has apparently become an essential part of our lives and we just can’t stop drawing comparisons between real life and bollywood. Be it the scenes where we are late for the class. Be it the excuses we make in home to go out with friends. Be it the way we have fun with friends. We all take bollywood references and instill in our daily life situations. And the best part, we find it cool. One thing we are heavily influenced by bollywood is the way they dress. We want to try out every new style a bollywood hero/heroine flaunts. That being said, let’s take a tour to the bollywood closet!!!
Bollywood being India’s first cinema industry has always had a repute of its own. They’ve never compromised the way they present their characters on screen. The way they dress the way they appear has always been taken care of. During early days, the heroines were draped in simple colorful sarees but yet they would make a striking appearance on screen. Whereas the heroes wore shirts, boot cut pants and sometimes bell bottoms. Time passed and bollywood introduced new styles. It was cool for a hero to just wear a vest on a pant and still look good. Heroines got comfortable with the glamour enhancing dresses they got to wear. And then came the Era. An Era of coats and sweaters! Remember Shahrukh khan wearing that black jacket and playing the historic DDLJ theme in the fields of yellow flowers? Remember that Grey long coat he wears while he runs to the summer camp where his Anjali is? Shahrukh Khan began the Era of coats and jackets and we all loved him in it. Want to get your hands on one of those kinds? You could always search for winter coats for men online. Talking of coats how can we forget that iconic knee length long coat Hrithik Roshan turns inside out to make it a superhero suit in KRRISH!
Bollywood has always been having specially affinity towards coats. It has been a medium of expression of love too. You can find a lot of movies where in the hero removes his coat and wraps it around the heroine and they smile at each other. Moving on, bollywood also found style in sweaters. Be it the ones that Shahrukh wore in “Main Hoon Na” or be it Aamir Khan from “Fanaa,” they actually brought sweaters into trending in fashion industry. Till then sweaters were just to insulate people from cold. But later was turned into a style quotient. When heroes were busy trending coats and jackets, heroines wore the shawls and stoles with the jackets and it only added to the looks they usually carried.
All in all, bollywood has played a great role in influencing the way we Indians dress. It has always shown us what’s trending and has been an illustrated guide when it came to choosing the kind of dress we have wanted to wear. Thank you bollywood!!!
